The tuner is not picking up my string
Pluck one string firmly and let it ring, and play close to the microphone — a fresh pluck reads better than a fading one. Make sure Fretwork has microphone access in Settings › Fretwork › Microphone. If the tuner says it could not open the microphone, close any other app that is using it and try again. All pitch detection happens on your device; audio is never recorded or uploaded.
How do I unlock everything?
Fretwork Pro is a one-time purchase — no subscription, no ads. It unlocks every alternate and custom tuning, the CAGED system, the circle of fifths, arpeggios, and the extended and altered chords. Every scale is free. Open the Tools tab and tap Unlock Fretwork Pro, or tap any locked feature.
I bought Pro before, or got a new phone
Your purchase is tied to your Apple Account. On the unlock screen, tap Restore purchase and Pro will unlock again at no charge.
Can I build my own tuning?
Yes. On the Chords or Scales tab, open the Tuning selector and tap Edit to set each string. Everything — chords, scales, and the tuner — adapts to it instantly.
